Excellent game, not just for a freemium platform, but overall! The tactical experience is unparalleled, and the selection and choice (representing thousands of designer-hours) makes the game easy escape into which you may lose yourself for an hour or two. Combat system is well balanced, characters are diverse and balanced. The advancement system is well designed but has a few opportunities for growth (experience is next-to pointless in the grand scheme of things). The pay-for-play aspect is very fairly balanced now, with tons of weekly free content to ensure that free players never fall too far behind the big-spenders. I applaud the Emerald City team for their effort, and Kongregate for their support.

Lots of content. Fun Tactic style gameplay. The load times are long and the app often crashes. Paywall is far in the game. Paid once in the beginning because I was having fun, once it began making it obvious I HAD to pay to move forward, they lost me. At that point, to move on as a free player, you have to work the timer for weeks.

Seemed good for the first two battles then crashed and wouldnt load up so not very good

Enjoy this game very much but when I use the runebinder and his skills it freezes... Also after beating 2 or 3 levels it kicks me out every time and I need to reload the game... Makes it frustrating... Fix please and will give 5stars.

Its seriously the closest thing to Fire Emblem on mobile. The maps are good, the abilities make for interesting tactical combat, and the unit classes are all fairly unique. My only gripes are that some of the desired upgrades and weapons later in the game become a tad "too" costly, and worst off, theyre at random, so you pay alot for something you may not get. Also, Im using an iPhone 5S, and there are environmental bugs on the screen. Wind appears as large pink polygons on certain maps, and it prevents me from seeing the map properly. Even then though, alot of the buttons and menu options are pretty small for a phone game. Its likely best played on a Tablet or a Browser.

tough for collecting crowns and coins, but still in good balance.

Overall, I like it. Developers, listen up! This game reminds me of my favourite game Shining Force with some exceptions: 1. The storys dialogue graphics need more work. Still, this game has better graphics than FF Tactics! 2. The Arena seems to be too mismatched, I have a party power of around 500 but am being pitted against parties with overall power at 800s. 3. It takes time for me to earn gold and XP, which ay be reasonable but cant I at least lose battles and earn some XP instead of getting nothing at all and am forced to wait for my fallen heroes to heal?! I really hope the unlock-able maps wont cost money coz that would make me stop playing this game altogether! Build more games like this! Jagged Alliance for iPad!

I liked that game its really detailed and epic. But if you would mind to make it working without internet that would be awesome. I know that you added internet to avoid changing time from settings but please think how to avoid it.

Being "Shining Force" fan this game looks appealing at first glance. I can predict that at some point you wont be able to advance without in-app purchase but thats not the case with only 3 stars from me. 3D battles are ok, but overall transitions from battles to anime-style cutscenes to heroes management and back to battles look odd to me. Seems like there is no free "world exploration" feature but for map movement and perhaps some forks along the way. Thats why it is 3/5 now...

Seems pretty cool, but unfortunately on my iPod 4 it crashes after the third battle of the tutorial .. Cmon you updated 3 Times since there is bug and not a fix about it!! Solve it now!! Update please!!
